How to Connect RangeXTD Extender to Nighthawk RAXE300 Router?

There are three different methods that a user can use to connect the extender to Nighthawk RAXE300 WiFi router. Let’s learn all one by one.

Method1: WPS Connection

The Nighthawk RAXE300 WiFi router supports the WPS connection, so you can connect the RangeXTD booster via WPS with RAXE300 router. Follow these instructions:

  1. Connect the extender to power outlet.

  2. The extender must be powered on near to the router.

  3. Find extender’s WPS button and give it a gentle push.

  4. The booster’s WPS LED starts blinking.

  5. Now, press the router’s WPS button.

  6. Wait for the WPS LED on the extender to stop blinking and turn solid.

It means the extender is connected with the router successfully. Now, you can join the new network with the help of the host router’s network SSID details.

Method2: Interface Connection

The second method to make a connection between the extender and router is through the RangeXTD web interface. To start the interface-based setup, turn the extender on nearby router and follow these steps:

  1. Link your computer with Extender’s WiFi network from the Wi-Fi settings of the computer.

  2. Go into the browser (it should be updated), enter the extender default IP address 192.168.7.234 and search it.

  3. The interface login page appears on the screen. Here, enter the admin default username and password.

  • Username: admin

  • Password: admin

  1. Click LOGIN to access the interface and search for the local WiFi network. Choose the Nighthawk RAXE300 network.

  2. Enter the password of the router and connect the extender with the Nighthawk RAXE300 router.

  3. Next page will ask you to type the new extended network WiFi name and password.

  4. Provide the new name and password, and then click SAVE Settings.

Now, extender will take a few minutes to apply the settings and create a new network. After that, you can connect any of your internet devices with the extended network via new SSID credentials.

Method3: Ethernet Cable (AP Mode)

The third method of RangeXTD WiFi booster setup is through AP (access point mode) in which you need a pair of Ethernet cable and a PC connected to the extender’s network. Before starting the process, slide the booster mode Selector to Access point mode. Then, use these steps given below:

  1. Now, connect booster with the Nighthawk RAXE300 router via Ethernet cable.

  2. Plug the extender in the wall socket and make sure the socket is not damaged and working properly.

  3. The next step is connecting a PC with the booster’s WiFi network and go into the browser.

  4. In the web browser, search the RangeXTD WiFi booster’s default IP address 192.168.7.234.

  5. Reach the RangeXTD WiFi booster setup login page, type the default admin username and password.

  6. Access the setup interface by clicking LOGIN button and follow on-screen instructions to complete the Access point mode setup.

  1. Make sure the booster is plugged to the power outlet within the reach of the host router (Nighthawk RAXE300 router).

  2. Always use updated web browser in your computer to access the booster interface to manage settings.

  4. Reboot the booster once in month so that device can refresh its settings.
